Gabrielle Blake is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with our firm. She is a West Tennessee native who moved to our area to attend school and later made it her home. She received her Bachelor of Human Services degree from Tennessee Wesleyan College and her Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Working with older adults has been Gabrielle’s calling since a young age when she volunteered in nursing homes and as a candy striper on the cardiac unit of a local hospital. Her first job in healthcare was working as a community counselor on the geriatric and adult units at Charter Lakeside Psychiatric Hospital in Memphis, TN. While at UT, she interned with Covenant Senior Health and took part in the opening of the Peninsula Senior Day Hospital program. She worked there as an LCSW until the birth of her daughter in 2006.  Since that time she has remained working with Peninsula on an as needed basis, leading group therapy sessions in the adult alcohol and drug program at Peninsula Lighthouse.

Gabrielle is licensed by the State of Tennessee as a clinical social worker (LCSW). In order to maintain her license, she must attend at least 15 hours of continuing education approved by the Board each year. She is a member of the Knoxville chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the Conservatorship Association of Tennessee, and the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth.

Gabrielle is a very active member of her church Faith UMC. She has a coupon ministry program there where she uses coupons to purchase items for their outreach work for pennies on the dollar. She runs the church food pantry, volunteers with the older adult and children’s ministries, and participates with the United Methodist Women chapter.

In her spare time, Gabrielle, or “Gabe” as we call her in the office, enjoys cooking and entertaining for family and friends. She is an avid canner and teaches classes on food preservation locally. Gabe enjoys camping, hiking, and gardening with her husband and daughters.

I have felt a calling to work with older adults since a young age, and I am so glad to fulfill my mission in life by working with our wonderful clients and their families.
